Public Health Service agency with searchable databases for environmental health and hazardous substances. Includes FAQs on toxicology, HazDat database, Science Corner and Top 20 Hazardous Substances.

Antimicrobial Use Guidelines-University of Wisconsin
Medical College of Wisconsin Hospitals P & T guidelines. Searchable by agent names, antibiotic class, organism, empiric therapy and HIV/AIDs. No references given.

Chemical Abstracts Service (CAS)
CAS, a division of the American Chemical Society, is the producer of the largest and most comprehensive databases of chemical information. 

Clinical Pharmacology Online Drug Database
Free monographs of common drugs. Subscriber fee for monographs on investigational agents, nutrition and less common drugs. Also available by subscription are interaction reports, administration reports and patient information pages.

EPA web site on CCA (chromated copper arsenate)
This site provides background information on chromated copper arsenate (CCA), a chemical mixture consisting of arsenic, chromium and copper, which is registered for wood preservative uses.  The site provides a variety of EPA's consumer resource documents, recent press releases, and relevant links. 

FDA New Drug Approvals List
Food and Drug Administration site that lists new drug approvals for the last 12 months. Searches farther back may be done through the FDA home page.

FDA Special Nutritionals Adverse Events Monitoring System
Data from the Special Nutritional Adverse Event Monitoring System website for dietary supplements has not been added to or updated since 1999, and the website has now been removed. More information regarding the enhancement of the website will be posted as it becomes available and as funding permits.

Guide to consumer health information sources; product of the National Library of Medicine.   Requires no registration and contains no commercial support or advertising.

Merck Publications

MSDS Search
The MSDSSEARCH.COM, Inc., National MSDS Repository, provides FREE access to over 2.5 million Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDSs), and links to the manufacturers.

PubMed (National Library of Medicine (NLM) MEDLINE Search)
PubMed provides access to over 12 million MEDLINE citations back to the mid-1960's and additional life science journals. PubMed includes links to many sites providing full text articles and other related resources.  Also, a new Entrez database, Journals, provides search and display features, and includes all the journals in the Entrez databases such as PubMed, Nucleotide, and Protein.

Prolongation of the QT Interval
Run by The University of Arizona is a Center for Education on Research and Therapeutics (CERT), this site is devoted to the education and research of drug- induced arrythmias especially those due to prolongation of the QT interval on the ECG. Prolongation of the QT interval can result in the potentially lethal arrhythmia, torsades de pointes. CERT has launched an "International Registry for Drug-Induced Arrhythmias" to learn from cases of drug-induced arrhythmia now so that they can be prevented in future cases. The site also provides lists of drugs that prolong QT or cause torsades de pointes (www.Torsades.org).

Toxikon Multimedia Project
Toxikon is a Medical Toxicology Consortium Including Cook County Hospital, The University of Illinois Hospital, and Rush Presbyterian St. Luke's Medical Center, Chicago, Illinois. This site contains toxicology cases and lectures, Toxidrome review, antidotes, discussion groups and links to other toxicology sites.

TOXNET Web Search
TOXNET is sponsored by the National Library of Medicine, through the Toxicology and Environmental Health Information Program of its Specialized Information Services Division. This free-of-charge search interface provides access to the TOXNET system of databases on toxicology, hazardous chemicals, and related areas.

United States Department of Agriculture Food Safety and Inspection Service
Responsible for the safety of the commercial supply meat, poultry and eggs, this site links to recalls on food products.

American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP)
Web site for the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists. Case Management Society of America (CMSA)
This site contains information that supports the profession of case management, and has clinical information and disease related links. The association is dedicated to the support and development of case management through educational forums, networking opportunities, and legislative involvement. 

Children's Health Environmental Coalition (CHEC)
Practical and accurate information for parents on how to prevent children from being exposed to hazards in their homes. 

CHES's Health eHouse contains a clickable virtual house that parents can tour, a quiz that provides a personalized assessment of the home environment, and articles, how to lists, shopping lists, chemical profiles and more to help parents determine if their child is at risk and how to keep them from harm.

US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC)

FCD Educational Services

Food and Drug Administration (FDA)

National Pesticide Information Center
